| We are officially MOVED IN to our new place! Of course, we still have tons of work to do unpacking and figuring out where we want to put everything....but we're out of the apartment for good! It's so nice having a place to call your own. We really feel like "adults" now! Kind of crazy!
Check out our awesome pics of all our hard work at flickr!

| I am VERY bad about posting on here. I like to think it's just because I have a life, so there's no time to write on Xanga when I'm busy living.
We're going to close on our very first home in a little less than 2 weeks - I'm SO EXCITED ABOUT THAT!! Check out pics of the place on our flickr site. In the meantime, 2 other couples from Sunday School are moving as well, so we get to help them move these 2 weekends before we close. Then it's our turn to let them help us. I like how that works.
It's interesting how there is always a lot to say when you post on Xanga frequently but there's nothing to say when you post every 3 months. Sorry, Xanga World, I do not care to update every day and keep you apprised of every minute detail of my personal life. That's what friends are for; and if friends happen to read this and want more details, well, that's what email or phones are for. I mean, come on.
Now that that's been cleared up, I've got to go help one of those couples move this morning. At least we get free lunch out of it.

| It's been forever since I last posted. Vacation in FL and TX was great! Very fun, relaxing, and definitely made me not want to get back to the daily grind of work. A brief, not very interesting update on everything follows: We paid off our car! Our brand-new, 2006 Escape that we bought on New Year's Day 2006 is now officially ours. We got the title in the mail yesterday, actually, though we sent in the final check at the beginning of the month. VERY exciting! Now we can start saving up for a house down-payment (which will take FOREVER, since houses around here average $500k). I got flowers and nice notes from everyone at work yesterday, thanks to it being 'admin. asst. week' or whatever. That was nice, and totally unexpected, because I didn't realize that's what week it was. We're going camping this weekend! I'm very excited. I don't know how long it's been since I've been camping, and David's never been, so it'll be fun. Definitely an adventure! Hopefully it won't be TOO cold - it's supposed to be around the low 60s during the day. We'll just have to bring lots of blankets, as I'm sure tents do not provide much insulation from night air. That's about it. I warned you that it was a brief, not very interesting update. Of course, I update my Xanga more often than most of my friends that I'm 'subscribed' to, so I guess I'm not doing too bad. We're just a bunch of slackers together. Until next time... | | |
| In 40 minutes, we're leaving for the bus which will take us to the airport so we can catch our plane to Orlando! Then on to Dallas, then back here again. 11 days of vacation, here we come! Woohoo!

| ****EDIT: I have now officially put some pictures on Flickr, if you so care. END EDIT****
It has been one year and two days since we flew out to Washington, not knowing a soul or where we would live. What a busy year it has been.
Christmas was good. We got on the webcam with my family on Christmas Eve afternoon. We would've done it Christmas morning, but if, for example, we got on when it was 9 am for them, it would've only been 6 am for us. TOO EARLY!! And then they went down to visit extended family for the rest of Christmas, so we would've missed out. Hence the Christmas Eve webcam session.
David got me a hammock for Christmas. We've hung it in our living room. Crazy, I know. Awesome, definitely. We will be posting pics on our flickr site at some point of Christmas Day, etc. so you can check them out. I just don't know how soon that will be.
David's 24th birthday was yesterday - it was much better than last year's birthday, considering we were not in a hotel this year, I made his cake (rather than buying it at a store) and he actually got gifts and cards from his family and me. Well, he got a couple small things last year, but I think he liked this year better, what with his PSP and guitar finger strengthener thingy and stuff like that. Pics of his birthday will also be on flickr eventually.
We will be going to visit family in Florida and Texas in January-February 2007. We are very excited, and have a feeling that our families are even more excited. If that's possible.
Until I post again...
